Each director and camp is truly deserving of this honor, having demonstrated initiative and established high standards as we look ahead to 2026.

This year’s recipient of the 2025 Top-Rated Director Awards for Nike Soccer Camps is Ben Maxwell, Owner of Player One Performance. Starting humbly in 2017 with a handful of campers, Ben and Player One Performance have worked methodically in partnership with US Sports Camps to develop a comprehensive and productive soccer camp experience. This longstanding collaboration has brought Ben's coaching philosophy across the San Francisco Bay Area and Ben has staked his claim as one of the premier coaches in the Nation. In 2025 P1P camps accrued over 1,200 campers.

We spoke with Ben and asked him what he thinks is the key to running a successful camp. Here’s the insight he shared.

"At P1P, we spend 10 months preparing for camp season, to give the players and families the best-in-class camp experience. This dedication to preparation and desire to be the best is underlined by our love of running soccer camps. We enjoy nothing more than providing an environment where players know they will be challenged, improve, and enjoy the process along the way. Knowing this is being appreciated by the parents who have rated us so highly is humbling, and only serves as motivation to continue running the best soccer camps.

As I approach my 10th Summer with USSC, I send my thanks to the entire team for helping P1P grow from 3 local camps in 2017 at our home in Saratoga, to expanding down the coast with over 15 camps in 2026. USSC has opened doors, and provided opportunities beyond expectation, and we are thankful for their contribution to our growth. The daily interactions, and support from the team at USSC, allows us to focus primarily on the operations side of running camps, allowing us to thrive knowing that behind the scenes, everything is being taken care of."
